University of Johannesburg (UJ) Registration Process 2024

You can access the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Student Online Registration Portal 2024 24 hours a day from any location with an internet connection using a desktop computer, a laptop, notebooks, tablets, and even smartphones.

  • Registration commences for returning/continuing students in respect of Diploma, Degree, Honours and Course Work Masters programmes on 18 January 2024 until 12 February 2024 (only online, off campus registration will be allowed).
    • Access cards for senior students will be automatically activated after registration.
  • Registration commences on 18 January 2024 until 12 February 2024 (only online, off campus registration will be allowed) for new Masters coursework, Honours and Postgraduate Diploma students.
  • Registration commences for First-year undergraduate students on 23 February 2024 and closes on 05 March 2024 (only online, off-campus registration will be allowed).
    • Only First Year students will need to come onto campus to collect their student cards. To gain access to campus you will need your printed proof of registration and an ID or driver’s license.
  • If you are a Senior student under the age of 18 on 18 January 2024 OR a First-year student under the age of 18 on 23 February 2024, you and your parent/guardian should sign the under-age agreement form and submit this completed form to the Faculty before you will be able to register. Please follow this link to access the form: DOWNLOAD NOW

Steps to Register Online at UJ:

Step 1:

  • Log onto the registration portal via ulink.uj.ac.za using your STUDENT NUMBER and PASSWORD.
  • If you do not have a password, click on CREATE PASSWORD to continue.

Step 2:

  • Cick on ONLINE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT and then REGISTRATION to start the registration process.
  • Detailed instruction on how to use each option can be accessed by clicking on the blue question mark at each process.

Step 3:

  • Work your way through all the processes listed on the left: Please verify your contact details and Read the Academic Registration Rules OR agreement and click I ACCEPT to be able to continue with Online Registration.
  • Verify your registration statuses. If you are not allowed to continue with online registration please contact UJ (011 559 4555 or registration@uj.ac.za) for assistance.

Step 4:

  • Click on Cheque and Credit card payment to make a payment (no debit card payments accepted)

Step 5:

  • Click on SUBMIT REGISTRATION to confirm your qualification to be registered for.
  • Enter your EMPLOYMENT STATUS and select whether you are responsible for your own account. If not supply the third party information request.
  • Click on SAVE AND CONTINUE.
  • Select your combination of module to be taken and click on SAVE AND PROCEED.
  • Verify your Registration Cost and click o ACCEPT REGISTRATION.
  • Print your PROOF OF REGISTRATION.

Step 6:

  • After you have finalized your registration, please collect your student card (if you don’t already have one) at your relevant campus as soon as possible.
  • Remember to print your class timetable on the student portal.

Step 7:

  • Click on ADD / CANCEL SUBJECTS TO A REGISTRATION, if you want to add extra subjects to your current registration or cancel subjects (only permitted within the rules and regulations of the University).
  • NSFAS-approved students have to click on the NSFAS Allocation folder to start the NNSFAS contract process.
