Rhodes University (Afrikaans: Rhodes Universiteit) is a public research university located in Makhanda (Grahamstown) in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. It is one of four universities in the province.
Established in 1904, Rhodes University is the province’s oldest university, and it is the sixth oldest South African university in continuous operation, being preceded by the University of the Free State (1904), University of Witwatersrand (1896), University of South Africa (1873) as the University of the Cape of Good Hope, Stellenbosch University (1866)[6] and the University of Cape Town (1829).

The closing date is an administrative admission guideline for various Rhodes University programmes 2024.
Once a non-selection programme is full and has reached the institutional targets, then that programme will be closed for further admissions, irrespective of the closing date. However, if the institutional targets have not been met by the closing date, then that programme will remain open for admissions until the institutional targets are met.
Both South Africans and foreign prospective applicants for the 2024 academic year are hereby informed that there will be an extension of the deadline for the Rhodes University online application. All applicants are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to apply.
